COLUMBIA - Columbia Police Department's Narcotics Unit and Street Crimes Unit arrested three individuals after being involved in an ongoing investigation into the illegal sales of drugs and firearms Friday afternoon.

The investigation resulted in an undercover purchase of approximately 3 grams of cocaine and a .25 caliber Lorcin handgun from 22-year-old Terrance L. Williams. The undercover buy occurred on a parking lot located at 220 North Tenth Street.

Upon completion of the transaction officers arrested Williams and his associate, Donte R. Hardin, 20, for his involvement in the illegal transaction. Both Williams and Hardin were also arrested for additional illegal drug sales occurring during the two weeks of investigation.

Officers also acted on information received in reference to a drug sale taking place on another parking lot located at 2001 West Worley.

Based on the information and further investigation, officers arrested Christopher Turner, 32, for being in possession of approximately 7 grams of crack cocaine. Turner resisted officers and tried to destroy the crack cocaine during the arrest process.

Williams is charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance near schools and unlawful transfer of weapons. Hardin is charged with distribution of a controlled substance near schools, operating a motor vehicle while revoked, and resisting arrest. Turner is charged with second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, and resisting arrest.
