COLUMBIA - Boone County Health Department offers free H1N1 vaccine to more people starting November 9th.

The Columbia/Boone County Dept of Public Health and Human Services will offer free H1N1 vaccines on a walk-in basis from Monday to Friday 8am- 4:30pm at the health department clinic at 1005 W. Worley.

The vaccines are for Boone County residents in the narrow priority groups: pregnant women, children 6 months through 4 years of age, and children through 18 years of age who have chronic medical conditions.

The health department will also offer free H1N1 vaccines for people who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age at a public clinic from 2:30pm-6:30pm on Friday, November 13. Those who fall into the category mentioned above can get it too. No appointment is neccesary. There will be no FluMist available.

Pregnant women should first check with their obstetrician regarding vaccine availability at their office. Consent forms can be completed by visiting the City of Columbia website, follow the link to the health department's page.
