JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Matt Blunt is forging ahead in his fight with the Missouri House over digital archives.
He is now asking for archived e-mails from Representative Jeff Harris. The governor is facing a lawsuit for destroying e-mails to avoid an open records request. The day after Harris criticized the governor over the e-mail issue, Blunt demanded five years of Harris' archived e-mails.
"I've always been a champion of the sunshine law," said (D) Rep. Jeff Harris, Columbia. "We'll comply with this sunshine law request even though it is politically motivated. And even though it really is nothing more than an attempt to try to intimidate me or bully me. They've picked the wrong guy if that's what they're trying to do."
Harris says Blunt's request is politically motivated, but he will comply with the request.
