Researchers found more evidence linking Alzheimer's disease to a genetic component.

A study looked at more than 400 people, half with and half without a family history of Alzheimer's. Researchers discovered those with a family history were two times more likely to carry the gene known to be associated with Alzheimer's disease. Researchers say screening patients early could prevent a late onset diagnosis -- when it's often too late for any treatment.

Cancer Linked To Obesity

New research shows cancer deaths are directly linked to obesity. Researchers at the American Institute For Cancer Research found more than 30,000 breast cancers, and nearly half of endometrial cancers are caused by excess fat. Cases of kidney, pancreas and colon cancer are also linked to extra weight. However, studies show increasing exercise after being diagnosed with cancer, increases your chance of beating the disease.

Flu Season For Dogs Too

Flu season is here and people aren't the only ones to get the vaccine. Veterinarians are recommending people get their dogs vaccinated for the flu. It's not the swine flu, but the H3N8 or dog flu.  Vets say any dog that goes to a groomer, dog care center, kennel, dog park or vet frequently should get a vaccine.  The dog flu is not often fatal. Dogs can develop dangerous things like pneumonia.
