The defense played well in the first half but it took its play to another level in the second. The University of Missouri defense allowed just one field goal in the second half of its 96-33 win over Truman State on Friday night. Holding the Bull Dogs to just 23.8% on field goals and 16.7% from beyond the arc, Mike Anderson's defense swarmed the opposition the entire game. compiling 20 steals and forcing 29 turnovers.
Led by Laurence Bowers' 14 points and 12 rebounds, the Tigers shot 49.3% from the field and put up a plus-30 rebound margin on the night. Mike Dixon shot 5-9 from the field, scoring 10 points in his first time playing in Columbia. J.T. Tiller also contributed to the offensive output, efficiently scoring 13 points on 5-6 shooting.
After an encouraging first exhibition game, Missouri faces Northwest Missouri State in game two on November 13.
