The department arrested 42-year-old Michael Ladd June 5 for multiple charges stemming from a Feb. 5 hit-and-run. That crash on Paris Road killed 44-year-old Janet Bakos of Sacramento, Calif.

After the Columbia Police Department's Traffic Unit finished investigating the crash, the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney's office issued a warrant for Ladd's arrest June 3.

Authorities are now holding Ladd in the Boone County Jailon $100,000 bond. He faces charges of First Degree Involuntary Manslaughter, Second Degree Assault, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
