COLUMBIA- The sun beat down on Faurot Field as the Baylor Bears beat the Missouri Tigers.

The Tigers started off strong when Derrick Washington scored the first touchdown of the game with a 1-yard rush during the first drive. The score was 7-0 Missouri.

After a six minute and three second Baylor possession, Dary Stone kicked a 22-yard field goal for the Bears. Then the Bears took the lead when Nick Florence scored an 8-yard touchdown on their next drive. Andrew Gachkar managed to block the extra point attempt by Dary Stone, making the score 9-7 Baylor.

At the end of the first quarter, Baylor had 140 yards of offense and Missouri wasn't far behind with 137 yards.

The Tigers weren't deterred as they started the second quarter. Grant Ressel kicked two field goals for the Tigers in the second quarter; the second was 46-yards and tied his career record. After the field goals Missouri was back in the lead, 13-9.

Tiger quarterback Blaine Gabbert passed to Denario Alexander for an 84-yard touchdown, making the score 20-9 Missouri.

Florence completed a pass to Lanear Sampson for an 8-yard touchdown for the Bears. The Tigers scored the final touchdown of the first half, leaving only one second on the clock. Gabbert passed to Wes Kemp for the seven yard touchdown. The score at the half 27-16 Missouri.

The Bears scored another touchdown on the first drive of the third quarter. Kendall Wright scored the 13-yard touchdown and brought the score to 27-23 with the Tigers still in the lead.

The score continued to get closer when Stone kicked a 35-yard field goal for Baylor.  Missouri barely remained in the lead, 27-26.

Dominique Hamilton tackled Baylor's Terrance Ganaway in the end zone for a two point safety, making the score 29-26 Tigers at the end of the third quarter.

Baylor took the lead back at the beginning of the fourth quarter when Florence completed a pass to Wright for a 59-yard touchdown. The score became 29-33 Baylor.

The Bears continued to up the score when Ganaway rushed for a touchdown, making the score 29-40 Baylor.

Missouri tried to come back on their fourth drive of the last quarter when Ressel kicked yet another 46-yard field goal.  This was the last score of the game, making the final score 32-40 Baylor.

The Tigers play at Kansas State next Saturday, Nov. 14, at 11:30 a.m.
