BRUNSWICK - A levee break in the Triplett/Dean Lake area caused problems for residents on Saturday.
Jason Calvert recently moved into a new home in the area.
"I just moved in about three days ago," he said. "I'm going to start loading my stuff anytime just to be safe."
Calvert began repacking things he just moved due to the flood waters surrounding his home and said he would add sandbags around the house later in the day.
Things were much worse around the lake area itself. Some estimated the water moved in about a foot per minute. Homeowners said they had about 2 hours to move belongings after the levee broke.
Residents said they thought the waters would crest near Brunswick at about midnight on Sunday morning.
