WASHINGTON- The Democratic Presidential Candidates will debated in Iowa on Thursday, a day after the Republicans had their chance. The debate is the last face off before caucuses next month.

The last Democratic debate before Iowa voters go to the polls happens as new poll numbers show slides in the Clinton campaign. Clinton once had double-digit leads in Iowa and New Hampshire, now those are gone. Clinton is not alone. The front-runner nationally in the Republican party, Rudy Giuliani, has also lost his big lead. The challenger for the Republicans is Huckabee and Obama leads for the Democrats. Now the strategy for Clinton and Giuliani is to play up why they are the best candidates to win the white house.

Giuliani said, "It's my job to convince the Republican party that I'd be the most electable Republican. I'd be the one who could beat the Democrats. I can put more states in play than any other Republican."

Clinton also tried to win back her spot and stated, "I have been standing against the Republicans, George Bush and Dick Cheney, and I will continue to do so and I think Democrats know that."

While Giuliani still leads nationally and Romney is the long-time leader in Iowa, Mike Huckabee has surged in that state, where voters go to the polls three weeks from today.

An MSNBC poll shows Huckabee surging to a 12% lead among G.O.P. candidates in Iowa. Huckabee leads among Conservatives and Evangelical Republican voters while trippling his support among women. Huckabee's lead over Romney in Iowa has prompted Romney to release the campaign's first commercial attacking a rival.

Huckabee chalks it up to politics and explained, "The more desperate and frantic campaigns get when they see how much money they've spent and we're winning, that causes people to do some sometimes desperate things."

Huckabee leads Romney in Iowa, 32% to 20%. The Romney Ad in question tries to distance himself and Huckabee on immigration. In the ad Romney said Huckabee supported in-state tuition and scholarships for the children of illegal aliens.

Romney stated the ad is a comparison of records and nothing more, "It's not negative, it's accurate. It's an ad that shows the differences on a very important topic, and actually if you agree with Mike Huckabee's position, it's a positive ad for him. If you agree with my position, it's a positive ad for me."

This past week has been the Obama and Oprah show. Oprah Winfrey has appeared in many early states campaigning for Barack Obama.

She stated, "The reason I love Obama is because he speaks to the potential inside of every one of us. Each one of us has a calling and potential here on earth."

This is the first time Oprah has supported a political candidate.
