Two companies voluntarily recalled products after they were found to pose health risks to children.
The company Infantino recalled about 68,000 shape-sorting toy castles after it was discovered the plastic rod can come loose, allowing the colored beads to slide off, posing a choking hazard to young children. The company received four reports of children nearly choking to death on the beads.
Essentials for Kids recalled about 20,000 jewelry sets. The recall comes after it was discovered the metal in this jewelry contains high levels of lead. If ingested by young children, the jewelry can cause adverse health effects including stunted growth, impaired hearing, and kidney damage.
Both products can be returned to the store they were purchased at for a refund.
