COLUMBIA - Super Tuesday is three days away, and the presidential candidates are counting on Missouri voters.
Republican presidential candidate John McCain stopped Friday in St. Louis. He spoke at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield.
However, McCain was not the only candidate in Missouri. Mike Huckabee made his second visit of the week. He stopped by the Springfield Airport Friday afternoon, and was in Jefferson City on Tuesday.
More presidential candidates will arrive in the Show Me State over the weekend weekend.
Saturday Barack Obama will hold a rally in St. Louis. Mitt Romney will also visit St. Louis. Claire McCaskill and fellow Barack Obama supporters will gather in Columbia.
Former President Bill Clinton will stop in Columbia, where he'll visit the MU Rec Center at 4:30 p.m. Later he'll visit Springfield. Local supporters and voters are preparing for Bill Clinton's Saturday visit.
The MU Rec Complex is even working with the Secret Service to ensure the safety of the event.
The head of the Boone County Democrats said because Missouri is a swing state, candidates are making it a point to make their mark in Missouri.
"They've been here before, Bill's been here several times," said Phyllis Fugit of the Boone County Democrats. "Hillary was here before she started running for president. You know, they know that we get out and vote and they want to make sure that we do that. That's the way I see it."
"Our staff's very excited, obviously. There are no politics involved in this," said Drew Singleton of the MU Rec Complex. "We don't talk about Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, or anything like that. But just because of the profile and position that Mr. Clinton held that our entire staff is really excited about bringing him into our facilities as well as our students."
Organizers are anticipating more than 1,000 people coming to see Bill Clinton Saturday in Columbia.
Hillary Clinton will stop in St. Louis on Sunday.
