JEFFERSON CITY - People in 24 Missouri counties could get federal funds.
Governor Matt Blunt mailed President Bush asking for recovery money. The letter listed nearly $12 million in damaged infrastructure, plus 1,000 homes damaged and another 1,700 homes affected. The money would be available to individuals, businesses and the county governments.
"It can be in the form of loans; it can be in the form of grants. Individual assistance can assist with temporary housing as people find a way to get back on their feet if their homes were destroyed," said Blunt spokeswoman Jessica Robinson.
The Governor does not know how long it will take to process his request.
