"It is vital for someone to stand up and say this is not okay," one protester said.

MU student Melissa Bauer has two bothers serving in Iraq. She said she fully supports the troops and her family. However, she also said she feels enough is enough. She joined the protesters for the rally.

"I think the cost of American lives and Iraqi lives is far greater than any help we can do," Bauer said.

Bauer said she is still concerned for the safety of her family.

"I worry about them every second of the day," she said."Every time I hear there were nine soldiers killed today, or two soldiers were killed in a helicopter crash, I constantly worry that those are my brothers."

Organizers of the event said it is time to pay attention to what is happening. They said with the possibility of an attack on Iran, our political leaders need to make a change.

"It demonstrates that people all over the country are displeased with this war," said Organizer Lily Tinker. "Over 70 percent of the people in this country are ready for an end to the war in Iraq and the demonstrations give visible presence to that desire that call for an end to the war."
