COLUMBIA - Voter registration fraud gained new attention this week when the offices of ACORN were raided by Nevada State Authorities after accusations of fraud.
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now works to mobilize voter registration, but suspicions of fraud was found in Missouri, including Jackson County.
KOMU called all the counties in its viewing area, and so far found no evidence of registration fraud or ACORN's presence.
Columbia has been a target before, but because of the process the forms go through, it's hard to fool the clerks.
"The process we have, from the signature verification to the voter registration verification, it's pretty easy to catch those," Boone County Clerk Wendy Noren said.
Noren said in 2004, when Boone County voter registration reached an all-time high, she found only five fraudulent forms.
