JEFFERSON CITY - Reflecting many of the latest statewide and national polls, the candidate of choice in today's presidential primary largely varies on what mid-Missourian you talk to.

Ray Walker of Jefferson City said he will vote for a candidate who can bring about about national renewal.

"I'm looking for somebody who says they want change," Walker said. "But I'm also looking for the person, the candidate who actually stand for and stand behind real change."

Walker believes that Mike Huckabee is that candidate.

"It's not necessarily because [Huckabee] is a Republican," Walker said. "If he were a Democrat, I'd be saying the same thing. And if he were a Libertarian, I'd be saying the same thing."

Schnucks employee Andrew Rosengarten also wants change, but sees it best attained through a different candidate: Hillary Clinton.

"I think it's time for a change and we need it," Rosengarten said. "I've always been a big fan of hers."

Walker said he plans on arriving at the polls a little after 8 a.m., but there's no rush to try to beat him there. The polls open at 6 a.m. and stay open until 7 p.m.
