COLUMBIA - Police say a Columbia man confessed to his involvement in Thursday night's murder.
Investigators with the Major Crimes Unit have identified 22-year-old Clyde Hyler Jr. as the second suspect in the murder of Antonio Flores-Ramirez.
Investigators have applied for a warrant with the Boone County Prosecutors Officer for one count of second-degree murder and one count of first-degree robbery. This warrant was granted and the bond was set at $1,000,000 for the first degree robbery charge.
Hyler's whereabouts are unknown at this time and police are asking the public for assistance in locating him. According to a news release, he is a black male, six foot tall, 160 pounds and his address is unknown. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous and if located, please call 911.
Antonio Flores-Ramirez of Mexico was found shot to death in front of an apartment complex on Quail Drive. Police say a second victim is in critical condition and being treated in a local hospital.
Police have also identified a second victim in the incident. The second victim was identified as 23-year-old Javier Perdoza. He is identified as a hispanic male.
The other suspect, 31-year-old Antoine J. Harris of Columbia was a passenger in the suspect vehicle when it was stopped in Fulton. Witnesses said two men left the area in a silver SUV after the incident around 10:50 p.m. Thursday evening. Friday morning, Fulton police stopped a similar vehicle near U.S. 54. According to the Columbia Police Department, Harris confessed to his involvement in the crime. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder, first-degree assault, first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Investigators say the murder appears to be drug-related and the victims were not randomly chosen.
