OSAGE BEACH- Whether Osage Beach motorists are going home or going to the polls, they will receive election updates from more than just the car radio.
There is now a new digital billboard displaying more than just advertisements.
One of Lamar's new digital billboards looks like any ad you might see on a conventional billboard, however this billboard is more high tech, like the jumbotron at Busch Stadium.
On Super Tuesday, drivers will see Missouri primary updates on 23 of these billboards around the state.
"Lamar has done this in other markets," said John McWhirter of Lamar advertising of Missouri. "We've done the Iowa caucus, the Carolina caucus and with the success of the community we were asked to do it in Missouri because it's such an important election."
McWhirter demonstrated how the Iowa caucus sign was read by drivers.
"I think it gives out a lot of information, and you know, you can see it. It gives out information, it puts out a lot of important information for people to see," said Joann Simmons an Osage Beach voter.
Lamar also uses the boards for other public service uses too, including Amber alerts and wanted postings.Â
"The results will be coming from the Missouri secretary of state's office direct toward the Lamar signs." said Simmons. "It's all in real time."
Lamar will begin running the updates on its Osage Beach boards at 6:30 pm.
