COLUMBIA - Barack Obama says he knows who his vice presidential running mate is, but he's keeping quiet about it until Saturday.
One possible candidate has mid-Missouri roots. Virginia Governor Tim Kaine went to Rockhurst High School in Kansas City. He also attended the University of Missouri where he graduated in three years with an economics degree in 1979.
He later went on to study law at Harvard and eventually become governor. While at Mizzou, Kaine was a member of S.I.M.A or Students Interested in Mutual Awareness, which sought to remind people of the value of friendship. Kaine was also a member of omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society.
Kaine says no matter who Obama chooses, he'll make a good pick."I'm not going to give the campaign advice. I think they have done a great job of making decisions all through this campaign or they wouldn't be where they are. They have to weigh a lot of different factors and my sense is that they're going to make a very good decision however they choose, they'll make a very wise pick."
Also on the Obama Vice President list are Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius and Senators Joe Biden of Delaware and Evan Bayh of Indiana. Topping John McCain's Vice President candidate list are Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
