COLUMBIA - A 24-year-old man is in the hospital with a chest wound after a physical disturbance around 1 a.m. Sunday.
While conducting a foot patrol of the Broadway and Hitt Street area, police officers observed two subjects being removed from 1025 E. Broadway, the site of the Penguin Piano Bar and Generic Nightclub.
The business was ejecting the two because they had been involved in a physical disturbance inside. When officers intervened, they observed one of the subjects had a wound to his chest.
Officers are continuing to investigate the incident and have yet to determine what type of weapon was used in the assault. The victim has been uncooperative thus far, and has not provided a description of the man who committed the assault.
