COLUMBIA - A man in Columbia found a way to make statement without saying a word. run 25 to 30 miles per week.

George Stevenson is a Columbia native who went to Hickman High School. He graduated from columbia college with a business degree. Now he's working to make a difference every step he takes.

George Stevenson is a runner who carries more than miles on his legs.

George: "Since I was young, the environment and health has always been incredibly important to me," Stevenson said.

Three or four times a week, George spreads his message on the streets of Columbia without ever saying a word.

"Found a message that embodied what I believe in and thought that I could incorporate this into my daily living," added Stevenson.

His neice Ellie is the artist behind the project.

"It's just fun to draw on people," Ellie said. "It's more fun when they don't want you to draw on them, though."

She uses a sharpie to make a point.

The message: burn fat, not oil.

"My mom wrote burn oil, not fat one time," Ellie said.

Stevenson says putting it on his back sends a message about materialism. He thinks people could do with a lot less.

"The whole world. We really need to take a global perspective on it," he said. "Our lifestyle. It would just not be possible for everyone to live like the way we are."

But big changes can happen with baby steps.

"Same things you learned in elementary school," said Stevenson. Reduce, reuse, recycle."

And plenty of people notice his message when they drive by.

"If they say anything they usually just say I agree or I like your message or something like that. It kind of just encourages me to keep doing it," Stevenson said.

George says he got the idea from the World Naked Bike Ride. He says he's moving to Arizona for business to work on making his company more environmentaly friendly. The 27-year-old says he like to
