COLUMBIA - Check in to see the great performers on this year's Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon.
Labor Day is this weekend. For some of you that will mean time away from the TV, but check in to see the great performers on this year's Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon.
There are lots of exciting things planned for this year's 2008 MDA Telethon. This year, the telethon will be brought to you live from the Hilton Garden Inn in Columbia. We'll reconnect with old friends like 11-year-old Ellie Stitzer. Ellie is now in the sixth grade. And thanks to donations from you, MDA camp is one of her favorite memories.
"We got to go swimming and did more tie-dying shirts and stuff like that. It was fun," Stitzer said.
We'll also introduce you to MU student and Miss Wheelchair Missouri Romanda Walker.
"People who use wheelchairs want what everyone else wants. They want a great job. They want success. They want companionship. We want to have fun," said Walker.
We'll introduce you to the new sport of power soccer next Monday during Sarah's Story. For now the MDA Telethon begins at 11 p.m. Sunday night and runs through Monday at 5:30 p.m. right here on KOMU TV 8.
And if you go to the Hilton Garden Inn in Columbia on Labor Day, you'll also find kids activities, including an obstacle course.
