HARTSBURG/ASHLAND - A man led Sheriff's Deputies on a high speed pursuit early Sunday morning through southern Boone County.
Deputies on special assignment patrolling the river bottoms spotted a vehicle driving in a careless and imprudent manner around 2:45 a.m. Sunday. As they began to follow the vehicle around Hartsburg, the vehicle increased its speed as the driver attempted to evade pursuit.
At the intersection of Old Highway 63 and Liberty Lane in Ashland, deputies tried to stop the vehicle but the driver, 18-year-old Dylan Hulett of Ashland, refused to stop. As deputies chased Hulett, they estimated his speed in excess of 100 miles per hour. They terminated pursuit on Route M.
Later deputies located Hulett's vehicle outside a residence on Cedar Tree Lane. They found Hulett inside the residence and took him into custody.
Hulett has been charged with Felony Resisting Arrest, Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle, Careless and Imprudent Driving, and Warrant for Failure to Appeal. He was also issued summonses for license violations and failing to stop at stop signs. His bond is set at $5,056.50.
