Who says you can't go home again? I am a former student who is back as a member of the faculty/staff at KOMU. I am also a Reporter/Anchor in the KOMU Sports Department.
You can find me anchoring sports at least once a week. I am also the anchor of the Halftime Highlights on the Tigervision football and basketball stadium broadcasts.
Reporting is my specialty. You can see my stories on the KOMU Sports Show on Sunday Night. I am also the lead reporter for "This Week in Mizzou Football with Gary Pinkel" and "This Week in Mizzou Basketball".
I've covered everything from the Super Bowl, to the World Series, to the Daytona 500. But I consider telling a good story about a local athlete the best part of my job.
I also spend time in the classroom teaching broadcast journalism students.
After graduating from the University of Missouri Journalism School in 1997 I worked at KJAC-TV in Beaumont, TX. While there I won a Best Series Award from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters. My series followed a Blue Chip high school football recruit through the recruiting process.
In 1999 I returned to Mid-Missouri and worked at the ABC affiliate in Columbia. I worked my way up to the Sports Director position before returning to my first television home.
I live in Columbia with my wife Sheri, a native of Jefferson City. We had our first child, Katrina, in August of 2005. You can reach me at EricBlumberg@komu.com. |
