I was born at 3:09 a.m., so it’s only fitting that I’m now setting my alarm to wake up at that time so I can wake you up at 5:30 a.m.!
I am a second generation Columbia native and my family has lived here for 50 years. I am a Rock Bridge graduate who traded my Bruin green/gold for Tiger black/gold and graduated from Mizzou with a Bachelor of Journalism degree in May 2007.
I’ve always wanted to be a journalist as it combines my favorite activities - meeting new people, writing and talking! I am thrilled to be able to stay and work in Mid-Missouri and look forward to getting more involved in the surrounding communities and bringing you the news.
I have a lot of family in the area including my dad, Terry, who is a physical education teacher; my mom, Vicki, who works at University Hospital; and my sister and brother, Blair & Blake, who are twins attending Mizzou. Our family is completed by Grayson Cal (named after his father and Cal Ripken) who is my mom’s crazy Weimaraner. I have grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins in this area also. We are fans of all Mizzou sports and I also love the Cardinals and Chiefs.
Feel free to email with story ideas, questions or just to say hi. I grew up watching KOMU and I am so happy to be a part of the team now. I take these words to heart: “There’s no place like home” and now it fits me even more.
