COLUMBIA - Perlow-Stevens Art Gallery hosted the first annual Art of Food Event Thursday night. The event benefits the North Village Arts District Farmers Market.

The event impressed Columbia resident Jan Swaney.

"It's wonderful. The food is innovative and delicious," said Swaney.

Co-owner Jennifer Perlow says she wants to bring awareness to the North Village Arts District Farmers and Artisan's Market through the event.

This cocktail-style event allowed guests to peruse local art while eating appetizers featuring fresh ingredients. Chefs from Broadway Brewery, Sycamore, Red and Moe's and The Wine Cellar & Bistro represented the local chefs.

"The chefs really value locally sourced products," said Perlow.

The chefs' food left a lasting impression on the guests.

"I will probably walk away and think about some of the food.  The food has just been fantastic," said Swaney.

The North Village Arts District Farmers Market will open on Sunday, April 29.
