Battle High School World Cafe
COLUMBIA - Columbia Public Schools want community feedback on the new intermediate school structure at a meeting Thursday night. The opening of the new high school, Muriel Williams Battle High, provides the opportunity for new structures at the intermediate level--the grades between traditional elementary and high school. The district will move ninth grade to the high school level and combine middle and junior highs to three-year intermediate schools. The new system will be: K-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
The district's Intermediate Steering Committee has met for the past two years to design a program that will combine the best of the current middle school and junior high programs. The recommendations will be presented at the Intermediate Programming World Cafe from 6 to 8 p.m. at Paxton Keeley Elementary School.
Two other World Cafes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 12 at Mill Creek Elementary School and April 13 at Derby Ridge Elementary School.
