Former Missouri Players Contribute Big in Falcons' Thursday Win
ATLANTA -- Former Missouri football players Sean Weatherspoon and William Moore had a memorable night Thursday playing in NFL prime time.
Weatherspoon, a linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons, and Moore, a safety for the team, combined to intercept New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees three times. Weatherspoon had his first NFL interception while Moore recorded two.
The Falcons picked off Brees five times in the game and ended his 54-game streak of throwing at least one touchdown pass. They went on to win 23-13, improving their record to 11-1 and strengthening their position atop the NFC.
Atlanta selected Weatherspoon as the 19th overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft. The Falcons picked Moore 55th overall in the 2009 draft.
