FULTON - The Fulton School District kicked off its Summer Lunch Program on Wednesday in an effort to make sure students continue to eat healthy even when they're not in school.

More than 40 percent of students in Missouri take advantage of free and reduced lunches during the school year and this summer program is an extension of that. Lunch and breakfast will take place at multiple locations throughout the city Monday through Friday until the end of July. This is part of the USDA's summer food service program that seeks to fill the food gap between school years.

Lunch starts today at the YMCA on Wood Street at 11 a.m. Breakfast will take place at the Fulton Middle School on 10th Street and Bush Elementary School on Wood Street from 7:30 to 8:30
