COLUMBIA - The Columbia Police Department responded to two armed robberies on West Ash Street late Friday night and early Saturday morning. Police say the robberies are unrelated.

On Dec. 14, 2012, at 8:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Break Time at 2101 West Ash Street. A white man wearing a ski mask displayed a hand gun and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. A K-9 officer tried to track the suspect but was unsuccessful. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

On Dec. 15, at 5:51 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Phillips 66 at 2200 West Ash Street. A black man wearing a mask displayed a hand gun and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Police believe the robberies were not connected. People with information should contact the Columbia Police Department.
