JEFFERSON CITY - The state's budget director said Friday the 2012 budget as passed by the state legislature is still $30 million out of balance. Linda Luebbering said next year's budget overlooks almost $25 million that will go to a recently-passed law that will gradually reduce state tax on corporate assets.
Luebbering also said the budget goes $5 million over what was previously recommended by the governor. Despite this, next year's budget looks similar to the 2011 budget. Members of the budget commission could not be reached for comment.
