Hickman v. Helias Baseball

COLUMBIA - Today was supposed to be Senior Day for the Helias baseball team. But after more than an inch of rain fell in Jeff City last night, the 1:00 p.m. game got pushed to a 3:00 p.m. start, and the location changed, too. The two teams squared off at Hickman with the Kewpies batting in the bottom of each inning.

Freshman Colby Fitch hit a 2 RBI triple to right field to put the Kewpies up 2-0 after the first inning. The Crusaders answered in the top of the second when the Hickman centerfielder couldn't make the catch on a Deion Hughes hit, allowing Logan Gaines to score.

The Kewpies won 4-3 over the Crusaders after eight innings of play. The Crusaders have rescheduled Senior Day for Tuesday against Waynesville.
