KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The three Republican candidates for Missouri's open US Senate seat cannot agree on how to pay for repairs to roads and bridges.
At a debate today in Kansas City, Congressman Todd Akin said he supports turning Interstate 70 into a toll road. However, former State Treasurer Sarah Steelman said she's opposed to tolls on any highway. St. Louis businessman John Brunner said tolls on I-70 was a new idea to hem and he didn't yet have a posistion.
Akin, Steelman and Brunner are running for the chance to challenge Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill in the general election.
