Investigation Underway for Boonville Assault
BOONVILLE - The Boonville Police Department began preliminary investigations Friday regarding the Thursday afternoon assault at Tiger Pawn II.
The Boonville Police Department held a news conference regarding the investigations. Lt. Bob Welliver said the victim, whose name cannot be released at this time, is in serious condition at University Hospital.
Boonville Police have more than 25 leads on the case and there is no known conflict between the suspect and victim.
"We're working on every lead with the people we talked to. We're still really trying to narrow down what we need to do and get to the right place," said Williver.
Welliver said he does not know how long the investigation will take.
The assault occured on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. The suspect first went into Quik Cash where they were denied a loan. They then moved next door to Tiger Pawn II and assaulted the lone, male employee inside. A customer entering the store called 9-1-1 and alerted police.
Inside the store, there is broken glass on the display case and several items on the floor.
Welliver said the suspect is a black male of slender build between 5'5" and 5'8" wearing dark pants and a tan jacket. He fled the scene in a burnt orange vehicle. Anyone with further information regarding the suspect should contact Boonville Police Department.
