COLUMBIA - A new philanthropic effort in Columbia, Letsbegreat.com, hosted its first benefit concert Monday evening. The concert was called Share the Love and it took place at The Blue Note.

The organization was created in December by MU Sophomore Aaron Peterman. The website allows people to vote between five different charities - Feed The Children, Salvation Army, United Way, American Cancer Society, and Boys and Girls Clubs of America - to determine which one will receive the proceeds. The charity that has the most votes by the end of the year wins 50% of the profit.

"I think that competition is the big thing that's going to drive the website, that's going to bring people to the website," Peterman said.  "If someone supports Boys and Girls Club they'll come and encourage other people to go to the website."

He estimated tonight's concert had a turnout of 300-400 people.
