Man charged with stabbing wife appears in court
COLUMBIA - The man who is facing first-degree murder charges for stabbing his wife Oct. 31 formally received his charges early Friday afternoon.
Donald Rowland, 88, appeared via video before a judge in the Boone County Courthouse. He was charged with murder in the first degree, among other charges.
Police say Rowland may have stabbed his wife before inflicting stab wounds on himself.
According to the report, the couple's daughter found them in their home after the incident.
Rowland spent the last week in the hospital recovering before being arrested Friday morning.
Rowland's bond was kept at $1 million, cash only.
The start of the case is scheduled for Dec. 10 at 9 a.m.
