BOONE COUNTY - A man was able to escape from his vehicle Saturday morning after it rolled over into power lines and flipped over, county officials said.

Gale Blomenkamp, the assistant chief with the Boone County Fire Protection District, said crews responded to the scene, near the intersection of Highway VV and Farrar Road, around 9:30 a.m.

Witnesses told officials the man was trapped inside the vehicle but crawled out on his own, Blomenkamp said.

"When we arrived here, he was out of the vehicle, complaining of some minor injuries and was disoriented, so he was not really aware of where he was at," Blomenkamp said.

The victim was transported to University Hospital.

Blomenkamp said state troopers and the Boone County Sheriff's Department are conducting a joint investigation to determine the jurisdiction in which the crash occurred.
