Millions Available in Unclaimed Cash at State Fair
SEDALIA - Some folks at this year's Missouri State Fair may be walking away with more than a good time and a full belly. Members from State Treasurer Clint Zweifel's unclaimed property team will be at the fair daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Matthewson Exhibition Center. At last year's fair, nearly $57,000 was returned to more than 400 Missourians. Zweifel and his team hope to duplicate last year's results at this fair.
The average claim is $300, so a quick stop by their booth could turn a nice profit for some folks. Although $85 million has been returned to Missourians in the last two and a half years, there's still $600 million in unclaimed property up for grabs. Missourians can also check on line here to search for unclaimed property any time.
