Missouri S&T Chancellor
ROLLA - University of Missouri System Interim President Steve Owens and President-Designate Tim Wolfe will announce the new chancellor at the Missouri Science and Technology campus Tuesday afternoon. The announcement begins at noon in the St. Pat's Ballroom of the Havener Center.
A search committee consisting of 17 students, faculty, staff and alumni sifted through the first round of applications back in April 2011. The committee worked closely with Owens to develop a candidate pool initially consisting of more than five hundred nominees.Throughout the summer, the committee cut down that number to fifty. By November, a number of cadidates were invited to the campus for second round interviews.
Dr. Warren K. Wray was named interim chancellor back in August 2011 following the retirement of former Chancellor John F. Carney III. Wray served as provost of the university for five years before taking on the role of interim chancellor. Wray began serving his term on September 1, 2011, the day after Carney retired from six years of service to Missouri S&T.
A video recording will be available on the school's website following the announcement.
