Missouri Schools Celebrate Walk to School Day
COLUMBIA - Missourians might notice a bit more foot traffic than usual today. Today is International Walk to School Day.
More than 20 schools across the state are participating in today's events. MoDOT encourages parents to meet up with other families and walk or bike together.
MoDOT says there are many benefits to walking or biking instead of driving including daily exercise, reduced fuel emissions, less traffic and safer walking conditions for children.
Four schools are participating in Mid-Missouri: Gentry Middle School in Columbia, South Park Elementary School in Moberly, Southern Boone R-1 in Ashland and South Elementary School in Eldon.
