COLUMBIA - The Missouri Theatre hosted a holiday open house Monday night to welcome the community to tour the theatre in downtown Columbia. This was the first open house the historic Missouri Theatre hosted after renovations took place in 2008.

Assistant Director of business services stated, "We've come in and done a lot of deferred maintenance to things that weren't able to happen over the past couple of years. A lot of that is replacing light bulbs,  painting the walls, just kind of trying to get it back up to the glory of the 2008 renovations."

The community enjoyed Christmas caroling by the Boonslick Chordbusters barbershop chorus as well as sweets like red velvet cake, holiday cookies, truffles, and cupcakes.

After the open house the Missouri Symphony Conservatory junior strings, children's choir, and chamber players hosted the Winter concert.

Music selections included "On With the Snow" as well as "What Sweeter Music.

The Missouri Theatre invites the community to "A Symphony of toys," with the Missouri Symphony Orchestra this Sunday at 3pm.
