MoDot Works to Precede Precipitation
JEFFERSON CITY - MoDOT said Thursday it is working to stay ahead of the winter storm that brought precipitation to the Jefferson City area starting around 7 a.m. Freezing rain, sleet and snow are expected to fall in the area throughout much of the day.
Crews are staying busy preparing for the storm rolling across much of Missouri. MoDOT crews have been out since midnight pouring salt on the roads around the Jefferson City area and will continue to be on the roads throughout the day.
MoDOT will update the road conditions on the MoDOT Traveller Information Map. Conditions for state roads are color-coded to quickly provide the information on road conditions. The maps are also available for smart phone devices.
