MU Requires Students in Japan to Return Home
COLUMBIA - The University of Missouri is shutting down all MU study abroad programs in Japan for the current semester. MU is also requiring students currently in Japan to return home.
The University made the decision after the U.S. Department of State updated the travel warning for Japan yesterday which says there is possible radiological release due to the situation at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
Students were notified of the decision via e-mail yesterday. Click here for a version of the message sent to the students. Yesterday's e-mail follows another e-mail the University sent out last week, simply urging students to return home.
