MU Volleyball Wins the School's First SEC Championship
7,879 people in the Hearnes Center, an all-time high attendance record, watched Molly Kreklow connect with Lisa Henning to finish the match against Mississippi State and win the university's first SEC championship.
The No. 4 Mizzou volleyball team won the championship after they beat Mississippi State in three straight sets (25-19, 25-16, 25-17). The Tigers (32-0, 16-0 SEC) have two more matches this season, one at home and one on the road. The next obstacle in the way of an undefeated season for the Tigers is the No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington, Ky on Nov. 24 at 12:30 p.m.
If the team wins in Kentucky they will play for a perfect regular season record at the Hearnes Center on Wednesday Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m. against Arkansas.
This senior class with 94 wins is already the program's winningest four-year class in the modern NCAA Tournament era.
At No.4 in the nation the Tigers have a chance to host the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament at the Hearnes Center in December.
