COLUMBIA - Neighbors in an eastern Columbia neighborhood are feeling unsafe after a 19-year old man was shot Monday night.

The shooting happened just after 11:30 p.m. Monday night on Volunteer Drive, near St. Charles Road.

Erica Young, a woman who lives on Volunteer Drive, said she is worried about her children's safety.

"What kind of world am I bringing my kids up in today?" she said. "You know, I really don't even, I don't even want them to come outside. It's just one of those things."

Another neighbor said he plans to break his lease soon, because he no longer feels safe in his home.

This is the third shooting in Columbia in one week. Police do not believe the shootings are connected. The victims ranged in age from 17 to 22.
