COLUMBIA - The annual Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival is still months away, but the anticipation is already building.

10 of the 30 bands were announced Tuesday at the Tiger Hotel as people rocked to the music of the Flood Brothers, one of the bands performing at the festival.

Richard King with Thumper Productions said people can expect returning artists like country superstar Lucinda Williams alongside newcomers to the scene.

"We have this artist coming up from Nashville; his name is Mike Farris," King said. "We're excited to have him, this is the first year he's coming and we're just really excited for him."

Other announced artists for the upcoming festival include the Punch Brothers, the Wood Brothers, Here Comes the Mummies and Junior Brown.

King said the festival will improve art installations from last year at Stephens Lake Park.

The festival will be held September 25 - 27 at Stephens Lake Park.

Early-bird tickets can be purchased at their website and in person at Vinyl Renaissance and Audio off 10th Street.
