State MAP Testing Improved Since Last Year
JEFFERSON CITY - State education officials revealed Thursday the results of a state test given to all students from 3rd to 8th grades. The MAP test is used to evaluate schools and students' progress.
As a whole, Missouri students scored better on the three test subjects than last year. Those three subjects are English, math, and science. 54 percent of students scored in the advanced range.
The only decrease is for eighth grade math, which went down half a point.
Margie Vandeven, a representative from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, said although test scores are generally higher, much work still needs to be done.
