State of Missouri Offers Drought Assistance Program
COLUMBIA - Governor Jay Nixon will announce a cost share program for farmers so they can access water during the drought.
Nixon will announce the program Tuesday, July 25, 2012 at 2:45 p.m. at a farm in Audrain County.
Not only are farmers suffering from a water shortage, but many are also experiencing a hay shortage.
This announcement will come after Nixon declared a state of emergency due to the extreme heat and drought. The governor did not only declare this state of emergency because of agricultural problems but also because of health risks.
