COLUMBIA - Brookside Apartments and Stephens College announced Friday morning that students misplaced by last week's fire will be able to live at a Stephens residence hall.
Hillcrest Hall at Broadway and Ripley St. will be available for people who will be unable to move into Brookside come August.
Brookside expects to lease up to 100 beds in sectioned wings of the residence hall.
On Sunday, a fire engulfed Brookside Townhomes early in the morning. The Columbia Fire Department estimated the damages at around $7 million. Brookside owners said more than 40% of apartments will be ready for the beginning of the school year and plan to have the rest repaired by Oct. 15.
