COLUMBIA - The sounds of cabaret kept feet tapping in Stephens Lake Park Friday. TRYPS, or Theater Reaching Young People and Schools, performed featuring students in seventh to twelfth grade. TRYPS makes it a mission to educate youth about music and musical theater. The group tries to focus on teaching children to challenge their creativity from music.

About 70 people attended the performance in the Stephen's Lake Park Amphitheatre. The cabaret performance featured music selections in the theme of "Crooners: From Sinatra to Buble."

One TRYPS member said he thinks it is a great organization and has had a wonderful experience enjoying and performing music with friends.
