Targetmasters Expect Gun Sales will Rise

COLUMBIA - Targetmaster's salesman Dale Roberts said he expects gun sales to rise after Governor Jay Nixon signed House bill 294 into law Friday.

The new law permits 21 year olds to carry concealed firearms, a change from the previous age limit, which was 23. The National Rifle Association said this was one of the highest age limits for a concealed carry permit in the nation.

Missouri, a recognition state to other firearm permits, validates out-of-state permits purchased at lower age requirements (ex. Texas and Florida).

The bill also revises gun training requirements for those seeking permits to fire 50 rounds of a revolver and a semiautomatic pistol instead of any other handgun.
